Geriatric Physical Therapy is a specialty with an emphasis on the older adult as they progress through the natural aging process.
The specialty prioritizes the health, wellness, and function of the older adult, as well as, management of some of the chronic conditions associated with the aging progress. These chronic conditions often include arthritis, osteoporosis, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, joint replacements, balance disorders and falls, incontinence, high blood pressure, diabetes, COPD, heart disease, and more.
Geriatric care includes collaboration with family members to ensure that programs provide a core focus on the preservation and advancement of functional independence. Functional independence programs are individualized to ensure success in both home and community environments.
Our goal is to empower our patients to maintain a level of independence that allows them to participate in the activities that they value most. At Southern Physical Therapy Clinic, our programs are patient and family-specific and tailored to your needs and goals. Our staff has over 20 years of experience in the management of older adults.
We would love the opportunity to earn your trust.
